Project B – Wip

Project B is a video game project I’m currently thinking about and writing the game design for.
Initially I don’t intend to make a prototype, but this may evolve in the future.

My thoughts on this project are focused on keeping the gameplay simple, with few mechanics and giving the player the choice. Indeed, the basis of the game is that each boss phase/attack is separate, and it’s up to the player to choose which boss phase(s) to face, and when.
Each phase will have separate hit points, and the player will be able to move from phase to phase, attack to attack, as he wishes, until he defeats one of them. Once this has been achieved, each other undefeated phase and the main character will regenerate a certain number of lives lost, and then the remaining boss phases will become more complicated, until all the boss phases have been defeated.
In this way, the player will be able to apprehend each phase, then choose whether to face a certain phase in its simpler or more complex form.

As the player progresses through the levels, the bosses will have more and more challenging phases, phases that can be combined, but each phase will always have the same number of hit points, as will the main character. The difficulty of the bosses lies in these mechanics and their combination, not in the time it takes to defeat them.

Each boss attack inflicts the same amount of damage on the main character, and the main character inflicts a set amount of damage per attack, which does not change over the course of the game.

The player’s progression is based solely on his skill and his use of the mechanics offered by the game: no talent trees, no xp or other mechanics that you might find in a boss-fighting RPG.

As mentioned above, I’m currently writing the game design for this project, which I’ll be able to provide to you once it’s advanced. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Magic the Gathering Extention – Wip

With the help of a friend, I’m currently designing an extension for the Magic the Gathering trading card game.

I will publish here the advances we make as we go along.
